  1. As part of our ongoing committment to product support and customer 
  2. service, Microsoft has released Works for the Macintosh, version 2.00e. 
  3.  
  4. This release fixes certain problems which could occur on older hard 
  5. drives and some third-party networks, in which the directory ID could 
  6. become greater than 65535.  In these cases, Works would appear to save 
  7. the file, but no data would actually be saved.  Works 2.00e is now in 
  8. production, and all new product includes this version.
  9.  
  10. For upgrade purposes, we have also released a new version of the Works 
  11. patch program.  This patch will upgrade any version of Works, 2.00a or 
  12. later, to 2.00e.  The patch may be freely distributed.

  14. To upgrade your copy of Works, copy the patch program into the same 
  15. folder as Works, and run it.  The program will only work on copies of 
  16. Works in the same folder, and they must be named "Microsoft Works."
